What Readers Are Saying

Why is My House Always a Mess?

Joanne, thank you so much for writing this book! Cleaning is one thing, but getting rid of items we no longer need is a whole other thing. Thank you for all the ways that you encourage, motivate, and give practical tips to help us start our journey. Because it is definitely a journey! I’ve already done one area and can’t wait to start on the next!

A Must Read for Everybody Who Needs To Declutter!!

I have already recommended this book to many people and I have only had it for a few days! I absolutely love every single part of it and it is arranged in the most wonderful format. Each chapter is thought-provoking and offers me the chance to journal my journey as I muddle through the mess of stuff I have collected throughout my lifetime of 71 years. I don’t want to leave this mess for my minimalist kids. Decluttering our Home is great, but decluttering our Heart is also of utmost importance. Joanne “Gram” Radke helps us work through that too! She starts by talking about “Setting Spiritual Foundations for Decluttering” and ends with having the reader Reflect on the Spiritual Lessons Learned in the Decluttering Journey. I can’t brag about this book enough.

An insightful read

I owned the book as a prank from a friend, but it turned out to be very beneficial. I’ve struggled with hoarding for too long, as I felt like everything I owned had sentimental value that I couldn’t afford to throw out despite them only accumulating dust at home. A friend gifted me this book (as what I’d assume was a prank), and it’s one of the best presents I’ve received.

What I like most about the book is that it’s written from “Gram’s” perspective, which makes the advice and tips very intimate and heartwarming. It’s just like getting a text from my grandma telling me all sorts of stories. The author didn’t only write instructions or pointers about decluttering but also had bits of inspirational quotes spread throughout. Her words made me ponder things and realize that value isn’t found in the item but in the memories that came with it.
